Our Story
It was always a friendship. She sat behind my chair during classes. With my bag slumped behind my backrest, she used to go through it like it was hers- eating my unopened oreos; so I'd pack a bit more snacks everyday just for her. We used to joke around, and talk about each other's problems, but we both knew we were just friends.
Everyday passed by in a flash- our subjects were increasing in difficulty, but that only meant we had more rants for each other. We'd look for each other when there were new food spots that popped up- "tara kain?"; we'd go for the after class one bottle almost every tuesday- "one bott?". There was this one time that stood out the most; having asked her to come eat multiple times, this day was different- my phone rang, she answered "malapit na ako nasan ka" i told her I'd meet her outside. I spotted her from afar, call me crazy, but time seemed to slow down around her. She had her usual angry face on, but her eyes were beaming. She was moving against a crowd, but my eyes were locked in- i was entranced. Nagayuma ata ako i thought to myself. Before long, I had to be true to my self; in the middle of the UST field, I borrowed her hand- we looked at each other, and only one word came out. Sakto.
We became inseparable. my plans, her plans- became our plans. We went through hurdles to stay close to each other. God had other plans. The pandemic struck everyone. We both got into different medical schools, but somehow, we made it work. Treating the South as my backyard, with her often visiting the east- we were two peas in a pod again. Being each other's anchor, support system, and motivation we pushed each other up until we reached our current height. We know that we are definitely still far from reaching the fruits of our journey, but we've decided to walk this journey together- hand in hand; as life partners, as lovers, as best friends.
— Levic
Then, I was just a kolehiyala trying to survive college life in Manila. We were seated alphabetically and coincidentally, Levic ended up right in front of me. One ordinary school day, our eyes randomly met across the classroom. With zero interactions prior, he suddenly asked, “Freecut ata. Kain?” And without hesitation, I said, “Tara!”, which was very unusual for me because I never agreed to having spontaneous lunch outs with strangers.
But there we were, sharing a quick lunch at the UST carpark, telling stories you wouldn’t normally share with someone you just met. And somehow… it felt right. Effortless. As if we’d known each other forever. Matching wavelengths, zero filters, no fear of being judged. Even then, I already knew, this is a friend I’d keep for life.
That random carpark lunch sparked a solid friendship. Sharing life updates, surviving the daily struggles of college, copying each other’s chemistry homework, having “one bott”s after nerve-wrecking exam weeks, eating ihaws in Pnoval, street food, and trying every place from Korean BBQ restaurants to hidden karinderyas in the small eskinitas of Dapitan. It may sound cliché, but sometimes you really do find love in the most unexpected places. I wasn’t looking for anyone but three years later, love found me in the form of my college best friend who had been right there all along.
After college graduation came the pandemic. Suddenly, we were in an LDR, seeing each other only once every 2–3 months. But we held on. When we both entered med school in different universities, 65.4 km apart to be exact, we remained an LDR couple. Distance challenged us, both as individuals and as a team, but our love, respect, and commitment made those kilometers feel like nothing.
Our relationship wasn’t an easy ride. The distance, on top of the relentless grind of studying medicine, was definitely not a walk in the park. But we became each other’s inspiration, rock, and support system. It was bumpy at times, we had our fair share of misunderstandings, but through everything, we never gave up on each other.
And now, here we are years later. Ready to start our forever surrounded by the love of our parents, families, and friends. Marrying my college best friend is the most magical plot twist of my life… and my favorite one yet.

From First Glance To Forever
Where It All Began
What started as a simple lunch between two college students slowly turned into an inseparable friendship. Three years later, over a Jollibee breakfast (food again, of course), that friendship officially blossomed into a beautiful love story—one neither of them ever saw coming, but both were grateful to find.
How It Went Along The Years
Ciello and Levic faced more than their fair share of challenges. They spent years as an LDR couple. Enduring long drives, countless travels, and limited time together—all while pursuing their individual dreams of becoming doctors. It was far from easy, but through it all, their love, respect, and deep longing to be together kept them strong and inseparable—truly like two peas in a pod.
The Easiest "YES"
On one random rainy day, Levic and Ciello found themselves at their favorite date spot in Tagaytay. Under gloomy skies and light rain, they talked, laughed, and shared their favorite crafted beers while overlooking the amusement park across the street. Little did Ciello know, Levic was quietly waiting for the perfect moment, working with the waiters, keeping his composure, and carefully hiding his plans.
Then came dessert, served with a question written in marshmallow frosting. And just as Ciello was taking it all in, Levic was already on one knee, holding a beautiful ring he had personally made. With a heart full of love and happy tears, Ciello said the easiest “yes”. A yes to spending forever with her best friend.
